Friendship
In Guatemala we celebrate Dia de la Amistad or Friendship Day on the 14th of February (Valentine's Day,) a welcome adaption to the holiday when working with preschoolers:)
We made heart shaped art, hosted a "secret" friend letter exchange, read stories about friendship, and at circle time, we shared about what we like to do with our friends.

Just another wonderful day with our Art and English Teacher, Miss Bonnie. Bonnie is a trained art therapist from California and will be working with La Puerta Abierta Library and Preschool this year.

Exploring the Deep Blue Sea
We've been learning about ocean life this week at La Escuelita Puerta Abierta. We've read about sea animals, made rainbow fish, and created a yellow submarine with the help of Miss Bonnie. We've explored new vocabulary like coral, jellyfish, and sea anemones.
We continue to learn new English words like Hands and Fingers and made beautiful birds with our hand prints to reinforce our English vocabulary.
